FIND A WAY. Take personal responsibility for making things happen – somehow, someway. Respond to every situation by looking for how we can do it, rather than explaining why it can’t be done. Get creative and follow up everything to see that it gets completed. We get paid for results, not activity.
Finding a way is one of the underlying strengths of Field as an organization! This Fieldamental gets to the reason why we are different and ultimately successful. But we need to remember that this only happens as a company if EACH of us takes the personal responsibility for making it happen. The ability to find a way is not related to your length of service, educational background, responsibility on the team, or any other external factor. Your ability to find a way is based on your drive, creativity, and effort to make it happen! The most important step in the process is making a decision & commitment that YOU WILL find a way.
You may be able to leverage the collective knowledge, insights, and experiences of others on the Field Team when faced with a challenging situation. There are over 140 Team Members that “Think Team First”, work together to develop the most innovative solution. Stretch the boundaries of what can be done and won’t be constrained by what we have done in the past.
As we grow, we can’t lose the entrepreneurial spirit that has fueled our success. We also can’t let our commitment to process control, quality, and risk management limit our ability to find a way. Some of Field’s “finest moments” have been when we committed to do something that had never been done, before we knew exactly how we would get it done (several examples in week #12, Think team First). Our current & potential customers, other Team member and suppliers deserve our commitment to find a way.
