If all you’re looking for is a simple parts catalog, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for a partner to help your R&D department build better products, help your supply chain department better forecast next quarter, and help the operations division better optimize their lines, then you’re in the right place. Welcome to Field.
Nine-tenths of your operations involve fastening, but did you know that only 20% of fastening costs actually come from the fastener itself? The rest comes down to logistics and technical issues. That means that 80% of your fastener overhead could be managed with a smarter process. And no one has a smarter process than Field.
Field’s difference is our big-picture thinking. We don’t just look at the price per part; we take a data-driven, multi-disciplinary approach that saves you money now and over time. We’ll add value by building cost-savings into each of your products while improving fastener performance and structural integrity. Instead of just suppressing price on a particular component, we’ll redesign the workflow or product design to use a completely different screw or process. We’ll work closely with you to help you eliminate waste, reduce labor costs, and forecast accurately. And we’ll do it all with guaranteed cost savings, now and in the future.
Field’s technical approach to fastening ensures superior quality throughout every step of the manufacturing, sourcing, auditing, and distribution process. On any given day, you’ll find Field team members reviewing supplier scorecards, auditing new inventory, and implementing new preventive measures to eliminate errors before they happen.
We choose our suppliers carefully, regularly measure their performance, and designate preferred suppliers based on a multitude of factors. As inventory hits our warehouse, Field’s “N-spect” inventory inspection system is able to quickly and accurately measure various quality elements and offer statistical feedback. This system allows us to inspect and approve products conforming to MIL SPEC and aircraft-quality requirements.
Within Field’s intelligent warehouse, you’ll find state-of-the-art computer systems and Radio Frequency (RF) barcode technology that tracks inventory as it moves through the system. If you’re implementing a Field VMI program, all inventory will also be scanned and categorized as it arrives at your facility, assuring there is little to no chance for an order entry error to occur.
I would 100 times recommend Field because they have their act together as a company internally and they really do care about their customers.
Field brings more to the table than just a price quotient. They bring together value-added services of engineering, design, application, processes, and supply chain to the table.
What separates Field from the majority of suppliers is they take it to the next level as far as the value they add. They encourage and push you to get better.
They really excel in their value engineering and their dedication to that aspect... They said right up front that they will guarantee initial cost savings year after year, and they have shown they have the expertise to guarantee it.
The transition to Field from the previous supplier was very smooth. Part shortage or availability was never an issue and Field converted more than 2,000 parts, including kit components. Field managed the process and was very timely in their responses and approach.
Field is an extremely easy supplier to partner with. They are always willing to do whatever it takes to meet our needs and offer alternate solutions when what we are asking isn’t possible. Whenever there is a problem, question or concern they communicate that to us immediately so a solution can be worked out before it affects production. We value their expertise in the fastener industry and the power of their supply chain, and appreciate suggestions they have made to us for continuous improvement.
